New Entrant ServicesIn an effort to promote motor carrier safety, The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration established strict rules for all companies applying for an MC Number. All "New Entrants" will be granted temporary interstate operating authority. New Entrants are required to demonstrate knowledge of safety regulations and undergo an on-site safety audit within the first eighteen months of operation. This safety audit will include a review of the New Entrant's safety data and management policies, a review of the carrier's documents and an interview with the agent. A New Entrant company will Automatically FAIL a safety audit if found in violation of any of the 16 safety regualtions reviewed during the audit. New Entrants must certify that they will comply with all applicable requirements including:
Specifically if a company is operating BEFORE implementing a random drug and alcohol testing program, the company will fail the audit. The FMCSA will require a Corrective Action Plan (CAP) to be submitted in order to be reinstated. If the DOT on-site safety audit requirements seem overwhelming or you are operating without a random drug and alcohol program in place we can help. If you have failed your safety audit due to non-compliance with drug and alcohol testing requirements, upon enrollment, The Transportation Advisor will even prepare your Corrective Action Plan (CAP) at no extra charge.
